STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Adrian Peterson ran for 126 yards and a touchdown and quarterback J.R. Revere ran for 117 yards and two touchdowns as Georgia Southern beat Delaware, 38-7, Saturday.

Peterson set an NCAA record for consecutive 100-yard, regular-season rushing games, breaking the previous record of 32 set last year by R.J. Bowers of Grove City College, a Division III school in Pennsylvania. It was Peterson's 45th straight 100-yard game, including playoffs.

Peterson also set a Southern Conference career rushing record with 5,418 yards, surpassing the 5,349 yards compiled by Thomas Haskins of VMI from 1993 to 1996.

Georgia Southern scored their first two touchdowns on Delaware turnovers, including a 1-yard run by Revere in the first quarter and a 58-yard run by cornerback Dreck Cooper on a fumble recovery in the second quarter.

The Blue Hens only score was a 19-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Postlethwait to split end Jamin Elliott in the second quarter to cap a 72-yard drive.

The Eagles defense sacked the Delaware quarterback five times.
